‘I am an observer. In every room, I find myself searching for faces that captivate me, that tell a story, that spark curiosity, that make me wonder
Who are you?
What shaped you into the person you are today?
Did we share the same struggles, or are we worlds apart?
Why have our paths crossed?
With my paintings, I seek to capture passion, intensity, and boldness. The raw essence of a person in a single expression.
There is something mesmerizing about the human face. How a single expression can reveal so much and yet conceal even more. With my paintings, I try to capture that tension, that complexity. I look for these qualities in people, and I bring them to life on canvas. Each portrait is more than a likeness; it is a feeling, a presence, a glimpse into someones essence as I perceive it.’
The artist Anete Oles is influenced by a deep fascination with people, with the emotions they carry and the stories they tell without words. She draws inspiration from old and new masters, but her work is unmistakably her own. Echoes of Tamara de Lempicka’s striking elegance and Andy Warhol’s fearless pop sensibility can be found in Anete’s approach, but she pushes beyond influence, seeking a visual language that is bold, vibrant, and unapologetically expressive.
‘Every painting is a conversation between me and my subject, between the viewer and the art. It is an invitation to look deeper, to question, to connect. Because in the end, isn’t that what we are all searching for?’
